Introduction & Program Overview
Welcome to the Resilient Well-Being Program
The Wellness Council of South Africa (WELLCOSA) is proud to bring you one of our latest mental health training courses – the Resilient Well-Being Program.
This Well-Being Program is an evidence based holistic 5 week training to help individuals enhance their Emotional Intelligence (EQ) on all levels and strengthen their Resilience. Through behavioural change norms, the ERCP shares practical and evidence-based strategies to manage well-being, both in the work environment, and with family and friends.
What is Emotional Resilience?
Emotional resilience is when you are able to calm your frantic mind after encountering a negative experience. It is intrinsic motivation, an inner force by which we can hold ourselves through all the downsides of life. In a broad way, emotional resilience means bouncing back from a stressful encounter and not letting it affect our internal motivation. It is not a “bend but don’t break” trait, rather resilience is accepting the fact that ‘I am broken’ and continuing to grow with the broken pieces together.
Why is Emotional Resilience Important?
An important aspect of building emotional resilience is accepting the fact that it is inseparably linked with other walks of life. For example, building resilience at work would also make you resilient in your personal relationships, and vice versa. Emotional Resilience is important because it gives people the strength needed to process and overcome hardship. Those lacking resilience get easily overwhelmed, and may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Emotional Resilient people tap into their strengths and support systems to overcome challenges and work through problems.
Our Emotional Intelligence (EQ) directly contributes to our Resilience. So, what is EQ?
